Answers: 1. Industry Economic Features what are the industrys dominant economic features? In order to highlight the industrys dominant economic features, it can be claimed that it is highly essential to analyze the competitive environment of that particular industry. Apart from this, it is also important to highlight the market size of that industry in terms of total revenue and annual sales revenue. Consequently, the growth rate of an industry is also helping to determine or evaluate the expansion of that industry in the operating field. In this regard, it can be claimed that Nucor Corporation is one of the largest steel manufacturers among the American organizations. In this context, in order to highlight the scope of competitive rivalry it can be also claimed that the organization faces high competitive rivalry from the domestic market as well as from the global market. Instead of that Nucor had witnessed approximately 11% growth in terms of sales volume during the year 2014. Moreover, in order to identify the life cycle of the organization, it is also notified that Nucor had positioned itself as a matured phase in the life cycle of the industry, which signifies its future growth (Nucor Corporation, 2014). Industry Competitive Forces what causes the competitive industry structure and business environment to change? In order to analyze the industry competitive forces in terms of competitive structure and changes of business environment, it is highly essential to incorporate the Porters Five Forces model, which is recognized as a one of the most powerful management tools for identifying and analyzing the profitability and attractiveness of an industry (Porter, 2008). The industry competitive forces have been discussed below: A] Bargaining Power of Suppliers To identify the bargaining power of suppliers of the Nucor, it is revealed that the bargaining power of suppliers is moderate, or it can be also referred as a low. In this regard, rationally it can be argued that Nucor has a very strong command over its suppliers. On the other hand, mostly Nucor purchase vast amount of scrap metal for manufacturing its steel products. Moreover, the overall capacity of buying material is increasing every year (Hartnett Ketellapper, 2011). B] Bargaining Power of Customers Similarly, in order to identify the bargaining power of customers, it is witnessed that the large number of buyers of steel product are relied on Nucor product due to their consistency and low-cost based products. Simultaneously, Nucor has acquired the majority of the steel market in The US. Thus, it can be claimed that the bargaining power of customers in case Nucor is low (Hartnett Ketellapper, 2011). C] Threat of New Entrants In order to highlight the threat of a new player in the market, it can be asserted that the initial investment as well the capital expenditure is very high than that of other industries. Apart from this, it is very difficult for a new player to capture the market rapidly. Thus, it can be argued that the threat of a new player is low (Hartnett Ketellapper, 2011). D] Threat of Substitute Products Simultaneously, in order to identify the threat of substitute product it can be claimed that several steel manufactures are producing various kind of new product with more advanced features, which signifies the steel market of Nucor is highly competitive. Thus, it can be claimed that the threat of substitute product is very high (Hartnett Ketellapper, 2011). E] Competitive Rivalry within the Industry In order to identify the competitive position of Nucor within the industry, it is revealed that larger numbers of steel manufactures are producing almost similar kind of product with same features, which signifies the steel market of Nucor is highly competitive. In this context, it is also revealed that Nucor has a competitive advantage for its cost-effective products. Apart from this, the organization can also produce steel quicker than that of the integrated steel manufacturers. Thus, it can be argued that Nucor has medium competitive rivalry within the industry (Hartnett Ketellapper, 2011). Based on the above discussion, it can be claimed through concentrating on the above-stated aspects it is possible to identify the competitive structure and business environment of Nucor within the steel industry. 3. Industry KSFs what are the key success factors for future competitive success? D] Market Achievements In order to ensure market achievements, Nucor should pay close attention towards the risk related aspects the industry, which can be regarded as a sound strategy for ensuring the market achievements. Team America Essay Example

Team America Essay Team America satirises almost every convention of an action movie, Americas political views, and the all important American actors who set themselves up as key spokespeople on world events. It does this by exposing the debateable issues and flaws, and ridiculing them. The films main focus is Americas blind view of the rest of the world and the USAs Global responsibility, a quotation taken from neo-conservative statement. In fact, the main aims in the neo-con statement are that America must accept its global responsibility and vital roles in maintaining peace and security in the rest of the world. The quotation from Team Americas logo: World Police refers to the countrys views. The film highlights Americas arrogance and how they think that theyre the world leader and they can resolve anything. However, in the first scene of the terrorists in Paris, Team America arrive in their flashy helicopters with the American flag embedded in everything, and they end up blowing up half of the town and telling everyone that everything is bon. Team America share the same views as the neo-conservatives but the film mocks them. This can be seen when the news reporter is reading the news about Team Americas world policing in Cairo, and the Film Actors Guild, especially Alec Baldwin.Team America has stereotypical representations of practically everything, from a group of terrorists speaking a language which seems to consist of about five words, to a young French boy with an ice lolly singing Frere Jacques. These stereotypes have problems and powers. The powers are that they are easily recognisable, and they can be humorous because essentially, they are just using exaggeration. However, people may take offence to stereotypes. The use of stereotypes could again, show Americas arrogance on how they see the rest of the world. This is also shown in the languages spoken, e.g. the French boy singing Frere Jacques and the terrorists saying Muhammad and jihad all the time.Another ironic fea ture in Team America is the use of puppets. It is ironic because the film has adult themes and topics, yet the producers decide to use puppets which are for children. By using puppets Team America goes against the Hollywood view that everything needs to be as realistic as possible. Also, the puppets could satirise the lack of talent in Hollywood actors. The lyrics from the non-diegetic music are of particular interest. The son Freedom Isnt Free could be similar to the American governments views on freedom, and Garys speech where he says he doesnt want the guilt, could be the views of an average American citizen. Also, the song America, Fuck Yeah! has the word America repeated constantly followed by fuck yeah which again shows Americas greatness and all of Americas ironic brands and views such as Wal-Mart, democrats, and Taco Bell. The puppet fight scene contains ironic non-diegetic music which is an example of incongruity. It has some fsat-paced music which builds tension then becomes very lively and energetic. It is a clichà ¯Ã‚ ¿Ã‚ ½ of action movies and it is funny in Team America because the puppet fight is unrealistic, yet there is serious music in the background. The film has many different tools to make it funny such as parodies and intertextualities. Team America uses clichà ¯Ã‚ ¿Ã‚ ½s from action movies such as Top Gun and Armageddon, however the film satirises them to them funny. An example of this could be the classic establishing shot of the team walking towards the camera in slow motion. It is an iconic shot because it makes the team look like heroes by using a low angle shot and dramatic music, however in Team America it is ironic because the team arent heroes, although they think they are.Team America also mocks the bad-guy which every action film has, with the Korean dictator called Kim-Jong-Il. One of his main scenes is of the mass murderer singing a song about how ronery he is. This is another example of irony. Also, Kim-Jong-Il uses the stere otypical Asian pronunciation of the letter R. This is ironic because the only letter not in the Korean language is R, so instead of saying ronery he should be pronouncing the L correctly but mispronouncing the R, for example loundhouse instead of roundhouse.Team America doesnt just satirise Hollywood movies, it also mocks the actors. In the movie there is a group of actors called F.A.G. who set themselves up as important spokespeople on world events. This is satirised when Janeane Garafolo says As actors, it is our job to read the news and say it as if its our opinion. What this implies is that famous American actors take it upon themselves to tell the world news, as if they have a global responsibility.Team America does not only parody movies, it also parodies a popular musical called Rent. The scene where Gary first appears is of him performing in a play called Lease. The song being performed is called Everyone Has AIDS, which satirises Rent because some of the characters suffer f rom AIDS.To conclude, I think that Team America is a very successful satire because it is so unique and it satirises conventions of action movies and it mocks Hollywood actors who we may look up to, and of course, it mocks America.

The Nominative Case - Learning Latin

The Nominative Case - Learning Latin In Latin (and many other languages) the Nominative Case (cÄ sus nÃ… minÄ tÄ «vus) is the subject case. There is nothing very tricky about it- that simply means that the Nominative form is what is used in a given sentence as a subject. When you look up a noun (in Latin noun is nÃ… men which is traditionally defined as a part of speech that names persons, places or things) in a Latin-English dictionary, the first form listed is the Nominative Singular. The same is true of pronouns, which stand in place of nouns and adjectives (modifiers of nouns and pronouns), both of which are also subject to declension. In English, some words are only used in the plural, but these are few and far between. The same is true in Latin. For the vast majority of Latin nouns, the first form you see in the dictionary is the Nominative Singular, followed by an ending for the genitive, and the gender of the noun. (Note: What you see following the initial word is slightly different for adjectives and pronouns.) Nominative Singular Example: Puella (1) Dictionary form: Puella, : The girl is good - Puella bona est. Nominative Plural and Paradigms As is true for the other cases, the Nominative Case can be used in both the singular and the plural. For puella, that plural is puellae. Traditionally, paradigms put the Nominative Case at the top. In most paradigms, the singulars are in the left column and the plurals in the right, so the Nominative Plural is the top right Latin word. Nominative Case Abbreviation Nominative is usually abbreviated Nom or NOM. Since there is no other case beginning with an n, it can be abbreviated N. Note: Neuter is also abbreviated n, but neuter is not a case, so there is no reason to be confused. Nominative Forms of Adjectives Just as the dictionary form of the noun is the Nominative Singular, so it is also for the adjectival form. Usually, the adjectives have a Nominative Singular masculine followed by either feminine and then neuter, or just neuter in words where the masculine is also the feminine form. Compare:(3) Noun: puella, -ae girl(4) Adjective: bonus, -a, um good This adjective dictionary-style entry shows that the masculine singular of the Nominative Case is bonus. The feminine singular of the Nominative Case is bona as was shown in the example about the girl (puella bona est.) An example of a third declension adjective showing the masculine/feminine form and the neuter is: (5) Finalis, -e - final Nominative With To Be Verbs If you were to use the sentence The girl is a pirate, both the words for girl and pirate would be nouns in the Nominative Singular. That sentence would be puella pirata est. Pirate is a predicate nominative. The actual sentence was puella bona est where both the noun for girl, puella, and the adjective for good, bona, were in the Nominative Singular. Good is a predicate adjective. Ethics Law and Change Management Case Study Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3250 words

Ethics Law and Change Management - Case Study Example On the average these companies create a product without knowing for sure what the product is going to be for, with no more than a vision. So far, they have not had a failure and have created millions of software jobs. France has a totally different kind of legal system. It is not like any other legal system in the world. Their courts as well as their judicial system can be confusing and difficult to use. Fortunately France understands this though and provides advocates to help maneuver the system correctly. Corporations may find, however, that France is a difficult country to get started in though if popular, the reception is like no other. Apple is a change company that stands up well to globalization. They are very popular throughout the world and are extremely popular in France. They will meet their problems but chances are pretty good that they will continue their climb in profitability and popularity, that is unless they let their ethics get in the way. Kotter (1996) says it better than anyone, "major change is never successful unless the complacency level is low. Complacency must be virtually absent and there must be a do it now attitude." This is what the winning team looks like. This is the country that will have all of the things that it needs including excellent business relations. This is the description of both Apple and France. There are ups and downs for both the corporation and the country and not everything has been perfect but in neither case can we say they were complacent. They have teams who have a "do it now" attitude. Like so many things there is also good and bad here. Apple has been in more than one bought with legal trouble and Apple and France have been advisories so since both have this culture there will probably be more. This paper will discuss both Apple and France and how they function within their culture and the world around them. Apple Incorporated Large corporations today have many ethical responsibilities. Apple is no exception. High ethical standards are one of the major things that help guarantee a corporations success. They determine how the company relates to their shareholders, customers, employees, and vendors. Ethical standards will determine whether or not these people believe they are dealing with a fair and forthright company. These ethical standards include principles of trust, honesty, respect, integrity, and commitment. A company's code of ethics covers many but not all of the practices that are involved in that business. This paper will discuss the ethics involved in Apple Inc. business as well as the legal system in France and the change often related to the globalization of a company. Gone With The Wind Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Gone With The Wind - Essay Example In this story, the main character, Scarlett O’Hara, must come to grips with the loss of her childhood wealth and comfort as a true Southern Belle of the Old South as the Civil War rips apart the Georgia countryside of her home and renders her penniless in the devastation of the Antebellum South. This is an important distinction that is made much of in both the book and the subsequent film. At the beginning of the novel, the grandness of the plantation does not seem to equal later impressions of it. Scarlett herself doesn’t seem to really being placing the mansion and grounds into their sweeping concepts until somewhat later in the book, when the city of Atlanta is under siege. It is here that she begins considering â€Å"the sprawling white house with fluttering white curtains at the windows, the thick clover on the lawn with the bees busy in it, the little black boy on the front steps shooing the ducks and turkeys from the flowerbeds, the serene red fields and the miles and miles of cotton turning white in the sun!† (339). As the war rages on and Scarlett is forced to exist in the relative squalor and deprivation of the Reconstruction, these images become even more distanced from the real. For example, Rhett Butler decides to leave Scarlett to her misery as he goes to â€Å"hunt in old towns and old countries where some of the old time must still linge r† (1009) while Scarlett continues to place her memories of the old plantation in terms of the romantically idealized: â€Å"the banks of cape jessamine bushes, vivid green against the white walls, the fluttering white curtains† (1011). The ending impression of Tara before the war thus takes on the image that is eventually put forward at the opening of the film by the same name. For the film, it was important to portray the sprawling wealth of a southern plantation to explain both Scarlett’s headstrong, princess-like attitude as well as her expectations regarding other people’s behavior. The mansion
